Architectural Criticism

Since 1996 I have been writing ‘Architecture and Arcadia’; a column reviewing how what we build and how we build it reflects the reality of our society’s priorities, fears and desires, even when these truths are in direct conflict with the society’s view of itself. This column has always been timely, responding to the events of the day – the 911 attacks, ‘sprawl’, the ‘malling’ of America, for example -- but always from an architectural perspective. Read ‘Architecture and Arcadia – A Mission Statement’ for an overview and introduction.
